THE STUDIO

One studio, from drawings to curtains.

The studio exists to remove that handoff. We design the structure and the interior of a period home together, as a single project, costed before site work begins. We work on a small number of houses each year — typically four to six — because that is the number that allows the same studio to draw your basement plan, choose your stone, specify your ironmongery, and approve your curtains.

The work is unhurried by design. We are not the right studio for a project that needs to be on Instagram by spring. We are the right studio for a building you intend to keep.

— Amy Drean

I founded Amy Drean Interiors after watching too many London homeowners renovate twice. The first time with a contractor and an architect, the second time with a decorator who arrived to find the joinery in the wrong place, the kitchen island fighting the chimney breast, and the curtains specified before the windows had been sized.

a small studio, by design
how we work

Three principles, in their shortest form.

01

One studio, end to end.

We hold the design intelligence from structural drawings to soft furnishings. No handoff between architect, contractor and decorator. The brief stays consistent because the people stay consistent.

02

Specified and costed before site.

Every fixture, finish, and furnishing is drawn, specified and costed before site work begins. One schedule, one budget, one studio holding the line.

03

Four to six projects a year.

We take on a small number of houses each year, so the same studio that drew your basement plan also approves your stone and chooses your curtains.

We work with a small number of clients each year.

If you are planning a project, we would be glad to hear from you.
